I'm now trying to set up my Winex-4.0.1 to work in order to play SS2 which I consider the one of the best games ever. I looked it up on the net and yes, sadly it does use directplay System Shock 2 is a wonderful game! In fact, I think I'll dig that out tonight. Generally if a game uses straight tcp/udp it should be fine. Directplay does not seem to be supported by wine/cedega at all and every game I've tried (off the top of my mind: TA, Flashpoint ) failed. It basically comes down to whether or not SS2 uses directplay. Thanks for all your help, this game really is THE BEST of its kind for me
If yes-> does it work if all parties are running the game under linux ? Has anyone tried the multiplayer under linux ? I am a BIG fan of System shock 2 and have recently installed it under linux.
